You will spend about 1.5 hours touring the Kasbah, learning about its historical importance in caravan routes. Post visit, a short drive takes us past Ouarzazate and into the Skoura Oasis.
Departing Skoura, our next major stop is the Todra Gorge, approximately 2.5 hours away. The gorge offers a breathtaking natural spectacle with cliffs rising 300 meters high. Spend an hour walking through the gorge and capturing photos of the stunning landscapes and occasional nomadic tribes. Moving on, we pass by Erfoud, reaching the pristine dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga by late afternoon. Settle into a luxury desert camp, where you’ll be welcomed with traditional mint tea. Enjoy a relaxing evening with a delicious 3-course dinner, followed by a night of local music and storytelling around the campfire.
Rise early for a photographic session of the sunrise over the Sahara Dunes, followed by a hearty breakfast. Explore the vastness of the dunes on a camel caravan, led by expert Berber guides. This 2-hour trek offers a profound sense of the desert's scale and beauty. Back at camp, choose to relax with a book, participate in sandboarding, or simply soak in the serene environment. The evening promises another scrumptious 3-course meal and special entertainment featuring local musicians and drummers, enhancing your desert experience.
After breakfast, depart Merzouga and travel to Fes. The journey will take you through the scenic Ziz Valley Gorge and past the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can enjoy a light walk and possibly spot Barbary apes. This drive will be approximately 7 hours, including stops for photos and a lunch break in Midelt.
